The boys are back and with a highly anticipated ten-episode contract with Hulu. After their success with Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men, the documentary miniseries on Showtime, the Wu-Tang Clan is trying their luck from a historical fiction approach.

Set to release on September 4, the RZA will join SuperFly writer Alex Tse in writing the show. Method Man and the RZA will both serve as executive producers on the show, alongside Empire producers Brian Grazer and Frankie Calfo.

The group has been together for filming and consultation in Staten Island, NY since February with the ultimate goal of capturing authentic life in the boroughs. Inspired by the RZA’s books The Wu-Tang Manual and Tao of Wu, and the real-life experiences of group members, the show will center around life during the crack epidemic and the RZA’s efforts in creating relationships between the ten group members before, during and after their rise to fame.

Viewers should expect blunt social commentary and some emotionally tense moments from this show come September…oh and some classic bops, too.
