Keli Holiday says he was denied re-entry into the United States while traveling from Canada during his North American tour, forcing him to cancel a scheduled show in New York City.
In a message to fans, the Australian musician said he was stopped at the border and held for several hours before being told he could not return to the U.S. He said he had the correct visa paperwork and was still trying to understand why the decision was made.
The canceled date was set for Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. Holiday also said members of his touring party had their visas revoked, leaving the group unable to continue with the U.S. portion of the run as planned.
Holiday, whose real name is Adam Hyde, is also known as one half of the Australian duo Peking Duk. His solo project has built a following around a mix of pop, dance, and alternative sounds.
No further explanation from U.S. officials had been publicly shared.
