Rest easy fam, there are NO SPOILERS in this article…unless you haven’t seen the first three seasons. If that’s the case, catch up already!

Fans of Ava Duvernay were not disappointed with the first three seasons of Queen Sugar. From the professional boss, Charley Bordelon, to the redemptive character in Ralph Angel, the story line alone leaves little to be desired for a viewer with regard to entertainment, intrigue or creativity. From Davis West’s shocking infidelity in the first season to Charley’s victory in the third season over Sam Landry, fans can see the realities black and brown people all over the world can only dream of. Duvernay’s commitment to empowering minorities and the silenced is showcased in every piece of the show, both in front of the camera and behind.

Now, midway through this fourth season, she shows no sign of stopping. Boasting 32 female filmmakers in director’s chairs, fans can see themselves in the family drama that has social media sites buzzing.

Queens, we salute you. Keep the tea coming.

Queen Sugar airs on OWN, Wednesday nights at 9p|8c.
