Burt Reynolds Dead at 82

Legendary actor, Burt Reynolds, has passed away in Florida at age 82.

The Hollywood icon was a fixture on the big and small screens throughout his versatile career. Reynolds was an Atlanta fixture for most of the 70s and 80s, as he filmed some of his classic films here. Deliverance, Sharky’s Machine and the Smokey and The Bandit movies were all filmed in and around the Atlanta area and other parts of Georgia. Mostly known as a comedic actor, Reynolds had his share of dramatic roles as well. Reynolds was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor his role as porn director Jack Horner in Boogie Nights in 1997. He won the Golden Globe for that role. Reynolds’ career spanned over 60 years, starting at Florida State University and winning the 1956 Florida State Drama Award.
